Safeauto Car Insurance Reviews
Votes: 2361 Editors Review:

Safeauto is a lesser-known auto insurance company, partially due to the fact they only provide coverage in a few states*.  One of their main points of differentiation is supposedly cutting out some of the middle-men, thereby saving a bit for the consumer.

Safeauto is based out of Columbus Ohio, and is fairly young compared to most well-known insurance companies, as they were founded in 1993.

Their service philosophy is "The Diamond Principle, A cut above the rest," which is simply a statement that emphasizes their focus on customer service, as they are available via phone 24x7x365.

Payment options are quite flexible:

  • Paid in full: In some states we offer a paid in full discount.
  • Bi-Monthly Payment Plan: (Pay 33% down, with the remaining two payments due every other month.)
  • Monthly Payments: (Our most popular payment method) Pay a down payment and five (5) affordable monthly payments.

We were unable to reach them for a full review of their various plans, coverage options, and unique features.

If you are in an accident with an insured of Safe Auto, call your lawyer immediately.
I was just in an accident with an insured from SAfe Auto.Their insured hit me as she tried to pass me on a residential street.Safe Auto called me, said they were going to pay my claim and total my car. Ten days later I get a letter saying, basically, that I lied because my version differed from their insured.
So, she was gangster leaning, talking on her phone, and speeding. She tries to pass me on a residential street as I was paused to turn left into a driveway. With my blinker on. And I was accused of lying. It was very obvious what happened. But, because they can say that, and legally get out of it, that's what they did.
So, if you are in an accident with a Safe Auto insured, don't call the cops, don't say you're OK. Call your lawyer, and go to the hospital.

I am so glad I don't have this awful insurance, however, one of their customers backed into my car so unfortunately I have to deal with them. It's been three weeks since the accident; claims representative told me that a minivan backing into a small car (honda civic) head on, would not cause the front end to be out of line-- like I am an idiot. Adjuster (over the phone) kept on trying to put words in my mouth even though they've never seen the vehicle. The van backed straight into my front bumper and tailpipe left a whole in passenger side and the hood is dented on top as my car is much lower than the van. I WAS NOT EVEN IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS HAPPENED! It's been three weeks, no adjuster. Keep getting the run around from the adjuster saying oh well I'll be there tomorrow (5 times now!). Called corporate several times and never returned a call! Will be seeking legal advice in the morning!

I had a fender bender where a tractor trailer hit the back of my car. While they said I hit them (how since I was hit in the back).. I was concerned at how long the process would be. Reading reviews I feared the worst; however, I contacted my claims rep and they were very responsive and came out .. did the adjustment and sent me a check for the repairs. The only delay was on my part as they called my house and not my cell as I requested because I don't answer unknown phone numbers at home. But once I was in contact it was smooth. Now as for my premium.. I'm waiting on that part but as for the claim process.. it was painless. This is just my experience.
