Metlife Car Insurance Reviews
Editors Review:

MetLife Auto & Home(R) is the brand name for several affiliated and very well-known insurance companies that are licensed to do business all over the United States. The companies' administrative home offices are at 700 Quaker Lane, Warwick, RI 02886. MetLife Auto & Home is part of the MetLife family of companies, which operates within the United States, as well as in many other countries. MetLife, MetLife Auto & Home's affiliate, a leading provider of life, dental, disability insurance and annuities, has been helping customers for over 145 years. MetLife Auto & Home companies have continued in that tradition by being leading providers of personal lines insurance products and services in the U.S. for over 40 years.

MetLife Auto & Home offers different types of auto insurance coverages. The first type of insurance coverage is bodily injury liability. Bodily injury liability coverage covers you if you injured someone or his/her property in an accident. Please see the policy or consult an agent for the full terms and conditions of the coverage. Policies with only bodily injury liability coverage have cheaper premiums than those with a full array of coverages, including optional substitute transportation and higher then the minimum limits for uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. Many people just get liability coverage if their vehicles are paid off foregoing comprehensive and collision coverage. Only you can determine which types of coverage are best for your own needs.

The other type of auto insurance is issued with a broad spectrum of coverage. Policies with broad coverage offer liability protection plus collision and comprehensive, medical payments and personal injury coverage, and uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage (depending on the coverages available in your state). Purchasing broad coverage is generally the best route to go when choosing auto insurance. Work with a licensed agent to help you determine which coverages suite your needs. When it comes to premiums they are all different among the various insurance companies in the marketplace. You can choose a higher deductible and have a lower premium; or, you can choose a lower deductible and have a higher premium. The deductible is your out of pocket costs in the event of an accident.

MetLife Auto & Home offers many discounts and benefits to auto insureds. It has Deductible Savings Benefit(SM) for good drivers who do not have loss throughout the year. A driver can earn a $50.00 reward, which can be used towards the deductible (or anything else), if a covered loss occurred. Certain limitations apply, for example, in NY, drivers must pay a state-mandated minimum deductible before using this benefit. Also, the benefit can build up to a maximum of $250. MetLife Auto & Home also offers a 10% defensive driver discount, if you complete a qualifying driver safety course. There is a 12% superior driver discount or 20% for MetRewards(R) This means you'd get up to 12% off, if all the drivers in your household had an outstanding driving record. The 20% MetRewards discount means you'd get 20% off, if you were claim and violation-free for five years. MetLife Auto & Home offers up to a 10% multiple policy discount when you have your home and auto insurance also with MetLife Auto & Home.

In many states, there is a discount for auto insureds who also have qualifying life, disability, long term care, or annuities with a MetLife company. MetLife Auto & Home also offers premium savings if you insure more than one vehicle with MetLife Auto & Home. MetLife Auto & Home also offers a good student discount of up to 15%. That being said, MetLife Auto & Home has some pretty wonderful discounts and rewards to help save on your auto insurance premiums. Coverage, rates, and discounts are available in most states to those who qualify.

MetLife Auto & Home also insures motorcycles, RVs, ATVs, snowmobiles, boats, and other similar recreational vehicles. It offers personal excess liability coverage, separate flood insurance policies through the National Flood Insurance Program, which is administered by the federal government, renter's, condo, mobile home, homeowners, and landlord's rental dwelling insurance.

MetLife Auto & Home has many advantages and offers very competitive prices for its premiums. MetLife Auto & Home is the place to go for all your personal lines insurance needs.

Usually insurance caneomips will not let you start a policy until you actually own the vehicle. But you can still call or talk to an agent to get a quote and then once you are actually purchasing the vehicle, you can call them and start the policy. Since you are buying a car for the first time and insurance as well, I would recommend you go to a local insurance agent and sit down with them and talk with them about the various coverages and whatnot as many caneomips that you call over the phone will try to sell you the cheapest insurance which does not provide good protection in the event of an accident. Also, check several different caneomips for quotes and make sure you get a quote with the same coverages so as to see who can offer you the best rate.

Horrible and Insurance company.
We filed an insurance claim with them when one of their insured turned out to be a total scum and a jerk who totally denied ever causing damage to our car. Evidence supports our claim was ignored simply because their client was dishonest and lied and denied being involved. It was a shock to see any decent company would refuse to carry a proper investigation to uncover the lies by their scum and choose to do a morally wrong thing in denying the claim. They chose to sink down to the shit hole because their low-life client simply got them of-the-hook legally -never mind morals and honesty! They have saved a dollar but in my opinion the adjuster, the supervisor and the manager as well as the company -all sunk in the the deepest shit hole they could find. Their client left us with damages and simply walked away with their blessing. What a shitty company!
